a big thanks to Gary and Cat, another great time was had by all, the girls loved the pool, and I think everyone was enthralled in "Uncle Dannys" coke and mentos exploits (watch this space as himeself has assured us he will get it to work)
so from myself and Cath, Tay and Islay thanks again.

YES the diet coke/mentos episode was a real winner

More research required here.
Another great day of general banter, and look like Gary's car is being scrapped due to a sway bar misscalculation. Maybe we could all chip in and by Danny a pencil
Thanks to Gary , Cat Lewis and The other kyle for a great day.
Mark D
Nev: feel free to edit Danny's rebuttal

I am fairly sure that our Escorts were made up from a kit of parts imported from England and welded together here.

Nev,
I thought the seats looked like 2 door Ghia's, not sure if you ever got the 2 door Ghia here? it was quite rare in the UK, and usually in 1.3 engine size, although I think 1.6 was available for 2 doors as well.
Other Escorts in the Uk also had similar seats to the Ghia, they had the same headrest shape but were thinner base and back, less padding, they were fitted to Sport's later GL's very late L's and to the RS2000 base model that replaced the MK2 Mexico.
Gary,
I had wondered, as Export spec shells were available in the UK, but were not exactly the same as the Aussie spec.
Where abouts were the Escort shells/cars assembled? was it in Victoria?

No, in Sydney I think. Roger will probably know more.
The seats looked exactly the same as Ghia seats but were obviously designed for a 2 door. And no, we never had 2 door Ghias
