If I built another car it would be a Mk2!!
I think it's the Vatanen factor!
When we bought the 1300 auto in 1989 it was price driven. Mk2s were still to expensive to buy to turn into a competition car.
Though a Mk1 will always be lighter!!

Mk2 for rallying.
If I ever get enough time and money to build a circuit car aswell though, it will be a Mk1.......so, I'm happy with either, but I'd rather have both.

I'll put my vote forward for the Mk1.
I cant go past the character of the curves, humps and bumps, especially one with arches. the rear haunches and the dogbone grille. Packed with style compared to most modern offerings. But...
I will build a Mk2 next, there is something more aggressive about a tough mk2. But...
Id sell my mother for a cossie turbo AWD mk5.
Cheers,
Justin P
