black versus chrome...

currently have chrome bumpers and door handles, I would like to change to black, and also quarter bumpers on the front. is it possible to paint the chrome without the paint peeling or will it be easier to try and source original black ones?

Hi Craig, me again.
I painted my rear chrome bumper black and have had no dramas.
If you have a MK2 Escort and need some front bumperettes I may be able to help you.

have you looked into powder coating the chrome black?
