Registering 1974 Mk1 with 2L Pinto NSW?

Hi guys,

I've got a mk1 escort lined up with a 2L pinto engine, rs struts and brakes, 2l gearbox and diff. I was wondering if anyone knew whether I can register it with the 2L without getting it engineered? Reason being I'm on my P's and wont be allowed to drive it if needing an engineers cert. Apparently some people say that because of the rs2000 (with the 2L) as an optional model/special addition you wont need to get it engineered because the mk1 came out with that motor.

Thanks a lot, any help or info/proof of the mk1 with the 2L would be awesome.
