Brake Proportioning Valve - Leaking

I had my brake proportioning valve cleaned up when I was rebuilding the car. When it was all back together, I had a brake fluid leak around the proportioning valve.

I've taken it out and had the brake shop give it the once over to see that everything is OK. Gone to put it back in the car today and it started leaking fluid when I was bleeding the brakes. Leak seems to be around the threaded electrical connection.

Any tips or ideas?

If I swing the spanner off it any harder I'm thinking something will break. I can't see plumbers tape working.

It must have a pin size leak in the casing

Should I drop this and just get another one from the spares box checked and rebuilt (minus getting it externally cleaned)

Is there a copper crush washer under it?

Yep it was missing a washer - asked the brake company to check it under pressure and they assure me its OK (hopefully they put it through a better checking procedure then last time).

They did tell me if it does it again the fluid could be coming up through the electrical connection and out the top (where the wiring loom connects). Some old school staff seeming to know a bit about the problems with old falcons.

Lets put in back in the car this weekend and hope for the best

OK - I spend my public holiday putting the brake proportioning valve back in the car and bleeding the brakes etc.

Upshoot of that is my electrical connection IS leaking brake fluid (coming out the top where it joins the wiring loom). Does anyone know where I can buy a new one electrical connection. I have a 2nd hand spare (that might or might not be any good) but given this is the 3rd time I'll have done this I don't want to do it again, or find the spare I have is only good for 100km's.

Any ideas?
