hello all, today i am the proud owner of a mk2 escort, 79, 2lt, auto

the only problem with the car is the alternator, basically it's not charging the battery.

i think there may be a cable missing.

does anybody know of some documentaiton about this? a wiring diagram for instance?

i was hoping to find something in the tech section of this site, alas....

looking forward to gettitng this on the road.

When first turning the ignition to on, does the alternator light come on ?

After starting the car, does that alternator light go out ?

How many wires are connected to the back of the alternator ?

What type of alternator is it ?

Why do you think a cable is missing ?
