we finally got my car going again after i cant remember how long
bad news is it needs new distributer
but the good news is i have one
do you think i should get new points, condenser and rotor button
or just wait untill i get electronic

Points will atleast get you mobile till you get electronic.

I recon u had Motorcraft dizy ?

There are at least 3 dizy for the 2 liter.

Be sure which one u have before getting ANY parts.

the one that was in there was out of a 1600
i got 1 out of my other motor (2 litre) and my uncle told me what i need to get

This is a crossflow 1300/1600 cc dizy.

Note the gear is different at bottom etc

when we got new points for this distributer they said the old ones where 1600 points and condenser.

could it be out of somthing thats not an escort

Go have alook at gear end and identify it from pics above

the one going in the car is 1 of the top ones

one in the car i dont know

supposed to be 1600

did the other ones have vaccum advance or what ever its called on them before

the one im putting in does

U need vacuum advance

why do you need it some1 told me that if you have a "hot" head u dont have it connected
cant remember who said it

Michael,

Vacuum advance provides spark advance under lightly loaded conditions
eg cruising along at steady state throttle.

Without it, fuel mileage willl be poor.

ok is that the bosch distributer

so should we connct that then
i dont think it is conected now
