Ignition Barrel

Anyone know if a Mk2 Escort Ignition barrel will fit into a Mk1? The barrel on my car is failing and I have only manged to find new Mk2 barrels with keys. I've seen the Mk1 ones come up on eBay occasionally, but as usual, when I decide to do something about it they are few and far between.
