Dry cell batteries - damaged terminal

I have broken the neg terminal stud on my powervamp / varley dry cell battery.

It snapped off when I was taking the battery out of the car for charging.

Break is about 4 mm up from the base of the stud , I can just get a nut started on it but it wont be reliable in an event.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Can the terminals be unscrewed and replaced?

Anyone know anyone who can open these up to fix 'em?

Would prefer not to bin an 18 month old $400 battery!

Cheers

$400 They saw you coming!

Just file it flat and drill and tap it like the current Varley's

Danny

Thats what they sell for, not what I get them for.

And yes, tapping them does appear to be the recommended fix. Apparently there is enough meat in the terminal base to use a thread insert (helicoil or similar) so shall give that a go.

I would just tap it and use a 6mm stud
