Hi,

Has anyone had any experiences or know of anyone that has used one of these pumps before ? I am looking into one as if i get rid of the nose off of my water pump i can fit a 10" fan behind the radiator and that will hopefully help with my cooling issues in traffic.

These pumps seem very good in theory.. but i am worried about reliability.

I have got dimensions for a pwr radiator that will bolt into my current mounts (LJ Torana) but it is another 15mm thicker.. so i will be pushed to fit my 8" fans that i currently have in there. (It is that close!)

the EWP seems fine, but i have seen issues in the early days with the controller. havent used one for a while, so maybe they have sorted it.

Cool, I have read things about the pumps leaking past the seal and splitting.. but apparently the new generation of pums have solved these issues.

I run one in my rally car. I have had no issues with the water pump at all.
Holds the car at a stable 85deg at idle and I have never seen it over 90deg (82deg thermostat, std 3 core mk2 rad), If i turn on the electric fan
It will dro pthe pemp at idle to 80deg. (I all way run the fan in stage, call it habit, but it makes sure there is lots of air passing thru the rad)

Which brings us to where to mount the unit, mine is on the Passanger
side mounted off the "Spare" alt mounts (Which is a little high, and gives
me greif when i change fluids, but once the air is out is is all good,
You have to be really carefull with air locks, even the smallest amount
of air will stop it pumping. thru cavitation and this is what kills them)

I would think about which side is your altinator on, and where the pumps going and match up the bottom outlet side before ordering you radiator, as you may save youself some plumbing. (Under the sump) or moving the alt, ect

Also I run a "sock" type filter in the rad inlet, this picks up all the junk
that come out of the engine over time (Salts from coolent, rust ect) these can ware out the impellors.

Best of all, they are not joking when the say it releases up to 20 HP.....
