Gregg,
The heater in an escort doesn't have a tap like many cars, the water always flows through the core. The metal flap opens to let the hot air past it into the cabin.
BTW Steve "one of the few good sales points to a miserable whinging freezing cold pommy bastard !! " You can call poms alot of things but I think we should draw the line at bastards. I can tell from your previous posts you like a good sprout but maybe you can take it a bit easier.

it is a race car take the heater out and put it in the large grey plastic tub at the side of your house
it saves 5 kgs and about 2 secs a lap

Hey Mal does it go faster in a grey plastic tub as I've only got a green one and didn't notice that much of a difference.
When I'm down next year can I put one in your grey tub and if it goes faster then it would have been worth the trip

I went from block drain thru heater then back to pump inlet.
Also blocked outlet at inlet manifold.
Seems to work Ok.
