RS Motorsport :: Classic Speed Restored

hi guys new to the forums and im hoping someone will help me out with this issue ,everytime i go to fill up my RS escort fuel splashes back out then takes a long time for fuel to recead back down the neck is there a breather or something to let the air out as i fill cheers

From memory, on the fuel tank there's a steel 'diverter' just near where the fuel hose clamps on, maybe it's come adrift or is bent into a bad location. (or I could be thinking of a totally different tank ...)

No breather as such, as the tank is vented through the carbon canister during normal operation, the fuel cap should create a seal.
