Ok another one guys.
would it be a bad idea to mount the surge tank and fuel pumps in the passenger seat location for weight distribution and impact protection.
I'm thinking (hard to believe) 100 GPH low pressure pump in the boot mounted to the tank via filter. soft lines through the bulkhead soft lines to the surge tank the surge tank and pump system and soft line through the bulkhead to the engine.

Would this require 'firewalling' from the cabin?

I'm not 100% sure of the rules but our rally scrutineers always seem to insist on a bulkhead between the cockpit and the fuel pumps/tanks etc. They even queried bulkhead fittings as the wanted no fluid connectors within the cockpit area.

pretty sure all classes will not allow connections within the cabin other than bulkhead connectors. You would have to box in/firewall the pumps from the rest of the cabin I suspect

to the boot it goes. its so frigging big though!
perhaps I can put some soft stuff between the unions to fit it up better.

Yeah caught myself in a moment of madness while in control of a keyboard...of course they do... and I'm sick of metal work so no more bending welding cutting or grinding than absolutely necessary.
