Hi folks,
I have just picked up a set of 48DCOE's (not DCO/SP). Now the question is that of manifolds. The only one that is advertised to suit 48's for a pinto is the mangoletsi one, but i'm not too partial to that as it's pretty long. I really wanted something a little shorter if possible for a number of reasons.

That been said has anyone tried the mangoletsi one out of interest. But more importantly, after reading around it seems some of you port a 45 manifold. This is something i'm more than happy to do but can anyone give me any definitive advice as to which one is the best to start with, i don't really want to spend a few hundred bucks just to grind a hole in one. Or if someone has something laying around even that they might be happy to part with???

I personally wouldn't buy the Mangoletsi as all of them except the 28mm is to long and the 28mm is too short as you really want something close to 300mm from the valve centreline to the butterfly. I wouldn't worry about the size of the holes as porting them allows you to make them work with the head you've got
The ones I've got stashed are 75mm long and a Redline is a pretty close copy. I'm thinking of trying one of the HT manifolds next on my road car

Lynx and redline come up occasionally on ebay and go for around $150. Taking a 45 out to 48 wouldn't take long.

Depends on what you actually do to the manifold Scott as the last one I had done took nearly ten hours

Oh, on a slightly different note, do you folks have any idea if you can use chokes and aux venturi out of a 45dcoe or 48dco with a little modification in the 48 dcoe's. I'm confident the ones I have are spot on but I'm just curious given you just can't get them any more, and in an ideal world I would probably replace one of the aux venturis as someone's been a little over zealous with the retaining nut in the past, still perfectly usable, just not perfect.
