Have you had a look at this thread?
This mod uses the capri rotors like you mentioned, is 100% bolt-on using the original calipers and cost less than $200. Can't comment on the brake pads because I don't know exactly what dad put in there but they're only good once the heat's in them so no good for street.
I'm pretty sure I had an XD brake booster in one of my mk1's, put there by a previous owner. Worked well but took up way too much room.

If the Volvo 4 spot calliper mounting holes need to be slotted to make them fit the Mk2 Escort strut, Could I ask by how many millimetres the slot needs to be? That is, how much material needs to be removed?
Would it be possible to find the common centreline between the calliper hole and the strut mounting hole and neatly redrill and use slightly larger bolts diamater?

Anythings possible.
The issue is we/I don't wont any accidents etc. The removal of material and welding etc to brake and suspension parts is fraught with danger.
