definitely leaning to the B16 calipers. Surely they would be an improvement over spaced, std M16 calipers ?????

Do you know any vented rotors (about 280 x 22-31mm) that I could use if I make up my own mounting bells ?

Here are some pics pics of the nissan setup. No the 295x25 rotors are not a patented method of making carbon rotors cheap .

This is a mockup I carted around the import wreckers for trying calipers.

In the production version, I've concluded the disk needs to be closer to the strut otherwise offset torque may exceed mounting lug capacity.

Holes in the strut and caliper are threaded, so a plate with the thickness reduced at the caliper is my thoughts for adapting.

This caliper is for a 280x26mm rotor, however it fits fine on a 295mm rotor. I got 2 sets off ebay.

There is also a similar caliper for 30mm thick rotors, which is very common in import yards. The caliper is wider, so it presents more wheel clearance issues, and the offset torque increases which is bad for pad knock off, uneven wear and possible mount breakage.

If making bells from alloy, then 2042 T3 has one of the best hot strength ratings of aluminiums. Most get very soft at mildly elevated temps.
