Is there anywhere in Aus to buy new hinge pins ?

Is there any alternative to original parts ?

Is the pin removal tool necessary or can u just punch them out ?

Michael I'm due to get my hinge pins done. I've been told they are 6mm(?) roll pins, from any hardware shop. This is for a MK2 RS.

Stu's on the money here. Yes they're just roll pins you can buy from any hardwares or tool/machinery places.

As for getting them out, for MK2's it's easier because you can unbolt the door and use a drift or similar to drive them out. MK1's are more difficult because you have to knock them out on the car. This is where the official tool may be handier.
