CAMS regs state that any mods to the steering must be signed off by an engineer.

If I am welding a quick release hub/system to the steering column, are there places (Adelaide) that can weld and certify at the same time???

Think I recall a thread somewhere where Roger welded his on but I dont fancy my welding skills on something that important!!!!

I dunno if it's possible but I'd be trying to find an adaptor that bolted onto the original splines.

Yes, you don't want to find out the hard way that you made some 'quick release' welds

There are other types of quick release systems on teh market. SPARCO do one that bolts to the existing boss. Can then put in spacers if required to try to position the wheel a little better.

Possibly going to need to lower the wheel also like Danny has done in his new car.

I used a graded welder and engineer to do mine, also did alot of other work. was Mile end way but havent got his details at the moment, am in FES morocco and dont have access to my home PC.

Might be able to find it when i get back in 2 weeks.
