Vauxhall 2 litre XE engine 16 valve

Any one used the above mentioned engine in an Escort here in Oz??

Aparentely it is quite a common conversion in the uk?? you can buy bellhousings etc to fit up to the type 9 5-speed etc??

Let me know your thoughts pros/cons in doing it (apart from it not being Ford based engine)...

Am sort of keen to possibly use one in a daily run-around if it isnt too heavy on the pocket for the conversion...
