Crossflow timing

Postby Damianhs » Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:22 am

i've just fitted a Kent 244 camshaft to my 1600 crossflow. I set the camshaft gear timing mark up to the crank gear timing mark, with the marks in line and close together. I,m now fitting the distributor so I've positioned cylinder no.1 at tdc on it's firing stroke. This leaves the timing marks in line but the camshaft gear mark is rotated 180 degrees. Shouldn't they be in line and close together. Hope this makes sense
