guys,
what,in your learned opinion would an immaculate,as from factory GT1600 Twin Cam with reconditioned, but standard spec (except for rebore and bearings)original L block with matching numbers be worth these days?interior and paint is in perfect condition.
the car is red pepper ,1972 model with black trim.cheers.

If not a reshell and complete with as many optional extras as possible, then I'd say 30K.
A red one (don't remember the specific colour name) with black interior, but was missing the original engine air cleaner/silencer and had incorrect under dash console plus some other bits n pieces sold for 30K on ebay at the start of this year. Otherwise looked to be in pretty good condition.
And an original, unmolested complete white one with red interior and minimal rust from the photos supplied got to 21K with a few days to go, then was sold and sale ended.
These are two that I've watched recently, hope this helps.
Darren

thanks Darren,
i suppose anything is only worth what the buyer wants to pay on the day.
long gone are the days when you could pick them up for 9 or 10 grand though as far as i can see.rs 2000 mk2 coupes are probably the next ones to suddenly take a leap in value due to their rareity.everything is relative ,i suppose.supply versus demand!
anyone wanna sell me a mk 1 twin cam???

Find me a good original twink for 30k I'll buy it. Better gamble than super. Look at what they are getting for Lotus Cortinas. (My biased opion only)
Cheers Peter

Asking a lot of money for this one when it missing or has the incorrect parts on it (in my opinion) -
Missing - the correct air cleaner/silencer from the engine, steering wheel incomplete and shouldn't have high back seats for a 1970 model.
Incorrect - strutt tops, brake booster, washer bottle (?, not sure when the change over occurred between '70 and '71 models), dash air vents, instrument facia, under dash centre console and door trims.
I would have thought more money would have been for accuracy to OE, as the big dollars for GT Falcons is in the originality.
